Adam Stokeld

Stars of The Highlands 2022

Station Manager Highland FM 107.1

Broadcasting from the Bowral studios of Highland FM 107.1... it’s Adam!

After years in business, in April 2019 Adam joined Highland FM 107.1 as a presenter.  His lifelong passion and interest in live Australian music, led him to community radio.

Adam became station manager in December 2019 and in November 2020, Highland FM 107.1 won the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia's 2020 Tony Staley Award for the Most Outstanding Community Radio Station in Australia.

Adam loves that the work he does provides him the opportunity to engage with the community and lend assistance to people and organisations in the Highlands focusing on mental health issues, supporting local retailers and working with artists and musicians to produce and promote their music.

In his spare time, Adam has been practicing Hip Hop and the Moonwalk in his kitchen and in Highland FM’s recording studio.

When we reached out to Adam to join Stars of the Highlands – there was absolutely no hesitation!

Adam shared with us that after eight months of treatment, his mother had just been advised that she is now in remission from multiple myeloma, a rare form of bone cancer.

“I am very grateful for the care and support my mother has received and I am aware of the huge role that the Cancer Council plays”

Good on you, Adam!

Adam, My mom had the same cancer as your mom but that was 28 years ago, which proves the point that research is the only way to help save people today. You will win because you have Emily with you, the two foot height difference is interesting. Terry
