ANDREW SPROLL
Dr. Andrew Sproll is a private practice dentist on the Central Coast. He grew up in Woy Woy and as he always comments…. “You can take the boy out of Woy Woy… but you can’t take Woy Woy out of the boy!”. Andrew is a dentist who provides treatment for tots to tweens and in-betweens under general anaesthesia at Brisbane Waters Private Hospital. His service reduces the number of children presenting to our emergency departments with pain, infection and facial cellulitis requiring urgent and life-threatening care. His other interest is providing orthodontic treatments for children to adults to empower patients to smile at their best! In the dental world… Andrew is a leader and star. He is a key opinion leader, a speaker and a visiting lecturer in general practice orthodontics and children’s dentistry. Andrew quotes that his craft is “drilling and filling” and is completely outside his comfort zone with dancing. His only experience with dancing was in the old days of ‘Club Troppo’. Andrew has a personal connection to cancer, having both his father (prostate cancer) and his sister (triple negative breast cancer) and many friends and extended family suffering or recovering from cancer. Andrew also has many of his patients battling or recovering from cancer. He is here to raise awareness for every type of cancer, but also for oral cancer which is on the rise in Australia. His message to all is... Please don't think that dentists are only checking for decay... your regular check-up is a whole mouth assessment. We are checking for signs of oral cancer every time you visit. Please make sure you have your six-monthly dental check up with your dentist!
