Introducing Ben Warhurst
Like in a kitchen, 'we grow our most when we do things that make us uncomfortable' or things that we fear.Dancing is both of these, SCARY and VERY UNCOMFORTABLE.... at least for me. So when I was asked to be a part of the 2021 Stars of the Border Dance For Cancer, I naturally said yes, and then immediately regretted it.... a bit like when your rushed to order at a restaurant and pick something you don't even want!!!
I was born and raised in Wodonga and have had a passion for cooking since I was young. I often skipped class at school just to sneak into food technology or hospitality classes and cook. After leaving school in year 11 to pursue a chef's apprenticeship, I started my own social media accounts to keep record of my journey. This quickly grew as more locals were interested in my story....and if you've met me, you know I love talking. I began to treat myself and my story as a brand. After hosting a few small events and cooking at peoples houses I decided it was time to go bigger. I created my own local food and wine event called 'The Border Food Forum'. 3 years later and I'm about to host the biggest one yet , all thanks to the support of passionate local businesses and 'foodie's'. I can't wait to be a part of this years fundraiser and work alongside other passionate business owners towards a common cause.
To describe Ben's dance style in three words: Please clap anyway...
