Chris Atkinson

Stars of Ballina 2024

Chris is a proud Ballina local who loves his family, his business and living an active lifestyle. A little nervous about hitting the dance floor in November, he is excited to help raise awareness and much-needed funds for cancer research, prevention, and support.

As CEO and a partner of longstanding, local accounting and business advisory firm Collins Hume, Chris champions small business as the backbone of the community. Known for his passion for strategic planning and meticulous execution, he inspires and encourages business owners to achieve their version of success.

This fundraising event not only aligned with Chris personally but professionally with all four of Collins Hume’s partners onboard to support it. Employing 28 staff, the firm has an ethos of ‘giving more than we receive’, supporting several local charity groups and sporting teams and partnering with global initiatives such as 1% FOR THE PLANET, Business for Good (B1G1), Climate Neutral and Sustainable Development Goals.

At home, Chris is husband to successful local stylist and sports coach Selina, and father to three beautiful daughters aged 15 to 22 who challenge and inspire him every day. When Chris isn’t at the office or with family and friends at home, you can find him mountain biking, adventure riding or training in the gym for his next gruelling, competitive fitness event.

Like most people, Chris’ family, and many of his friends, have experienced the profound and lasting impacts of cancer. Selina’s mother is a brave survivor, beating breast cancer not once but twice, which Chris says was a daunting and emotional journey for the entire family.

Supporters can donate to his fundraising page and keep an eye on Collins Hume social media pages for all the latest news and fundraising updates.
