Cancer touches so many lives, and I’m grateful for the chance to honour my Mum's memory and raise vital funds for the Cancer Council.
With their mum, I’ve had the joy and privilege of raising an awesome tribe of three kids, the youngest soon to turn 18. Much of the past 23 years has been devoted to family life, and now, with the kids grown, I’m embracing new creative outlets and passions.
One of those is improvisational theatre, which I perform at the Star Court Theatre in Lismore and with our emerging troupe, the Bent Stems. I love the energy, connection and spontaneity that improv brings. I also enjoy bushwalking and pickleball, two activities that balance the demands of my professional life as a lawyer at Somerville Laundry Lomax Solicitors.
Like many kids, I once decided that dance wasn’t really my thing, though I did love the joy of school ballroom lessons. These days, I’m hooked on Instagram dance reels and couldn’t resist the chance to be a “star” and learn to dance myself!
This journey is also deeply personal. My mother faced breast cancer twice before passing away too young from secondary cancer. Cancer touches so many lives, and I’m honoured to be part of this event, both to honour her memory and to raise vital funds for the Cancer Council.
Go Chris. The Somerville Laundry Lomax Solicitors team are right behind you and can't wait to see you perform.
