Why am I here? Because cancer sucks, big time. Too many people I love have been affected, and far too many have lost their fight, three just this year alone. No family should have to go through that. 

I’ve been supporting Cancer Council for years through Relay for Life, from Castle Hill to Penrith where, somehow, I ended up on the committee! The more I can do to raise awareness, funds, and a little bit of hope, the better. 

Last year, I watched my incredible wife, Michelle, take to the stage at Stars of Penrith — sparkles, sequins, the works! She absolutely nailed it, and I thought, “Maybe I could give that a go.” So this year, with Michelle as my biggest supporter (and probably my toughest critic), I’m jumping in myself! 

If laughter, music, and a bit of dodgy dancing can help raise money for cancer research, then count me in. I’m all in and ready to give it everything I’ve got!

Who do I fundraise for?

Like it says in my Bio, Cancer Sucks, big time!

I’ve been involved in Fund Raising for the Cancer Council for quite a few years now, with involvement in the Hills Relay for Life years ago, through to support and membership on the Committee for the Penrith Relay for Life for the past 3 years.

But why do I do this? Well, the list of people that I fundraise for is long - too damn long - but there are 3 main reasons why I keep coming back:

- Marc, who lost his battle with cancer leaving behind 3 kids under 13,
- Deb - who lost her battle only a few months ago after a great fight,
- Cuppa - who is currently winning his battle.

For those that we have lost - I will honor your memories and do everything I can so other families don’t loose their loved ones, and to those that are still fighting - nothing will stop me from doing everything I can to raise funds for research so others don't have to fight like you do.
