Dean Portener is a truck driver for Shoalhaven Brick and Tile Building and Landscape Supplies. Behind the wheel for more than 38 years, he operates a Mack Superliner truck, hauling from quarries across NSW, keeping the Nowra yard fully stocked. His days start early with long stretches on the open road, filled with good music and friendship with suppliers, customers, and fellow drivers.
After his loss of his sister-in-law and diagnosis of his friends mother with an aggressive form of Cancer, Dean is dancing to honour those lost and support those still fighting to give back to the region and community he deeply loves.
Known for his carefree personality and humour, Dean isn’t worried about nailing every move, as long as everyone has a good laugh – even at his own expense! After a viral dance video of his April Fools’ antics racked up over 1.2 million views, he’s ready to bring that same energy to the stage.
