I'm fundraising for...

Hi Everyone - let me introduce myself. My name is Erica - I'm lucky enough to have an amazing husband, Kevin - and together we have 3 beautiful girls - Georgia, Olivia & Millie. When I'm not being a mum, I work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Dept @ Lismore Base. 
At the end of 2018, our youngest babe Millie was diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma - and our world was turned upside down. In January 2019, she began treatment - and her Oncologist assured us that her cancer had a good survival rate, and he would do everything he can to cure her. Unfortunately, conventional treatment wasn't effective for Millie, and it took a drug still in research stage to shrink her tumour enough for her to undergo a Bone Marrow Transplant.  
Millie was lucky that both her sisters were a match for Bone marrow, and it was decided her sister Olivia would be her donor as they had the same blood type. Thankfully, over 4 years later Millie remains cancer free. 
We know how lucky we have to have Millie with us today - and we are actively supporting Millie as she raises money for Kids Cancer research. 
When i was asked to come on board as a star for this fundraiser, it was an absolute no-brainer. I admire Millie for her fundraising efforts - so if i can use my ability of making a fool of myself on stage to raise money for cancer research, support and advocacy - then sign me up!!!! 
Everyday I am reminded how lucky we are to still have Millie here with us, because people we know haven't been so lucky. As a nurse I am exposed to people daily who are going through their own cancer journeys, and it motivates me to be part of making their battles easier through support of great organisations like the Cancer Council.
