Why I am Fundraising!
I have always had a strong connection to the central west & moved to Orange with my fiancé Caoimhe last September.
Together with my brothers we purchased the business Robanco Meats in the area early last year and are enjoying supplying the great community of the Central West. We have all been touched by cancer at some point in our lives!
When I was 8 a childhood friend of mine developed Cancer of the eye. He had to move from Parkes to Sydney for almost a year to have the treatment that did save his life. It always amazes me that medicine has been developed to continually save people we care about.
In 2018 my Aunt Marguerite was diagnosed with Breast cancer and we witnessed how hard everyday life was for her whilst going through really rough treatment but, how fortunate were we that this fantastic treatment was available to her!
My fiancé lost her aunt Mary to ovarian cancer in 2014 in Ireland. The cancer had spread very progressively and her family were unable to have the medical treatment to cure the disease.
That
is why I decided to take part in this event & put my efforts into some fund
raising to assist others like Darcy, Marguerite and Mary to have a positive
healthy outcome.
Raising money for cancer research is just such an easy
thing for us to do. Every small donation counts towards continuing to save a
persons life from Cancer.
I
have my fingers crossed that my dance instructor Em will be able to turn these 2
left feet into something that resembles dance!
