Jamie McKenzie
I am beyond excited and deeply humbled to be included as a STAR in STARS of the Central 2025. This opportunity means so much to me, as I have witnessed many friends, family, and members of the Gosford Musical Society (GMS) navigate their own journeys with cancer. Motivated by this personal connection, I am eager to contribute in a meaningful way—by dancing and raising much-needed funds to support the essential work of Cancer Council NSW.
Through this event, I aim to highlight the vital resources, support services, and research Cancer Council NSW provides to those affected by cancer. Each step on the dance floor will be a tribute to those fighting or who have fought their battle, while helping fund ongoing efforts to improve treatments and save lives.
My career has been diverse and fulfilling, reflecting my passion for community service and the arts. I spent a decade working in youth community service, making a meaningful impact in the lives of young people. After taking time for personal growth, I transitioned into retail and now thrive as the Sales Team Leader at The Good Guys Tuggerah, where I lead with dedication, motivating my team and contributing to the store’s success.
Outside of work, I have a deep love for community theatre. I’ve been performing with the Gosford Musical Society (GMS) since 1998, starting as a child and developing a lifelong passion for the stage. Over the years, I have participated in more than 28 productions in various roles—cast member, crew, set designer, costume designer, props coordinator, and director.
I’ve also proudly served on the Committee/Board of GMS, first as a floor member, then as secretary, and for the past two years, as Vice President. These leadership roles have allowed me to contribute to the continued success of GMS and its vibrant community of performers.
Whether in the arts, retail, or community service, I strive to make a meaningful impact. This journey is more than just dancing for me—it's about making a real difference in the fight against cancer and supporting those who need it most. As a participant in Central Coast Stars, I hope to inspire others to join this worthy cause and help raise awareness.
