JESSE WEBBER | PLAYTIME CHILDCARE & AIR LIGHT INSULATION

Jesse Webber is the Approved Provider of Playtime Childcare, co-owner of Air Light Insulation, and Treasurer of the Wauchope Chamber of Commerce, which gives you a pretty good idea of the kind of person she is. A mum of three and someone who genuinely cares about her community, Jesse is constantly involved in projects and events that strengthen the region, support local families, and create opportunities for others. Much of what she does day to day is about bringing people together, and when she was asked to be part of Stars of Hastings, she said yes, because for Jesse, that's what you do when something matters.

She'll be the first to tell you that dancing is not in her everyday skill set, but she's not letting that stop her. Her motto when it comes to her kids, if you're nervous it usually means something exciting is about to happen, applies just as much here. Cancer touches so many families, and like most people, Jesse knows exactly how close to home it can hit. Stepping onto the dance floor is her way of showing her children, and maybe reminding herself, that you don't need to feel confident before doing something hard. Sometimes you just say yes, trust the process, and work it out along the way.

My Updates

Somehow I Ended Up Here

Somehow I Ended Up Here

If you’d told me a year ago that I’d be signing up for a dancing competition, I honestly would’ve laughed at you. Yet somehow… here we are.

For those who know me, you’d know I’m usually far more comfortable behind the scenes organising events, running businesses, juggling kids, replying to emails at ridiculous hours, or helping bring community projects to life. Dancing in front of a crowd? Definitely not part of the original plan.

But the more I thought about it, the more I realised this is exactly what community fundraising is about. It’s about stepping outside your comfort zone, having a bit of fun, bringing people together, and getting behind something bigger than yourself.

So yes, I’m officially saying yes to the sequins, sore feet, awkward rehearsals, and what will almost certainly be some questionable dance moves along the way.

I’m incredibly proud to be involved in this year’s Stars journey and even prouder to be doing it alongside such an amazing group of people, businesses, sponsors, and supporters who continue to show up for our community time and time again.

Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing a little behind-the-scenes chaos, fundraising events, rehearsals, and hopefully a few moments where I actually improve.

Until then… wish me luck. I think I’m going to need it!!!
