I'm thrilled to share my journey as I embark on the exciting adventure of joining Stars of Wollongong Dance for Cancer 2024. My decision and motivation for participating in this event is deeply personal, rooted in the experiences of my family and close friends who have faced the daunting diagnosis of cancer. Witnessing their struggles, their unwavering determination, and the incredible resilience they've displayed in the face of adversity have left an indelible mark on my heart. Unfortunately, not all of these journeys have ended with positive outcomes, which has fuelled my desire to give back to a charity that tirelessly supports individuals and families affected by cancer on a daily basis.
As the founder of my own consultancy business, I specialise in various facets of business management, balancing the demands of entrepreneurship with the joys of parenthood to two energetic kids is no small feat, but it's a challenge I embrace wholeheartedly.
As a first-generation Australian-Lebanese, I come from a culture where celebrating life and coming together as a community is paramount. I have a deep appreciation for traditional dances, which not only bring joy but also serve as a means of cultural expression.
In addition to my professional and cultural interests, I have a few quirks that make me who I am. I possess an uncanny ability to retain random information! I also have a passion for stamp collecting and have curated an impressive collection over the years. Despite my love for adventure, I must confess that I have an abysmal sense of direction and often find myself getting lost, even with the assistance of Google Maps.
I'm excited to take on the challenge of Stars of Wollongong Dance for Cancer 2024, not only to honour the fighters and survivors of cancer but also to showcase the power of community and support networks in times of adversity. As I prepare to take to the dance floor alongside fellow participants, I do so with a profound sense of purpose and gratitude. Gratitude for the opportunity to honour the fighters and survivors of cancer, and to shine a spotlight on the resilience of the human spirit. Together, we can make a difference, one step, one dance at a time. Wish me luck as I step onto the dance floor for a cause close to my heart!
