My Story...
Kellie has lived in Wodonga since moving from Wagga in November 2006. Kellie has been married for 23 years and has three beautiful children – Chloe, Charlie and Ava, and now a grandchild on the way. Kellie has been a Registered Nurse since 1997 with a background in Anaesthetics in theatre and currently works as part of the Acute Pain Management Team at Albury Wodonga Hospital.
Kellie is also a Director of Border Medical Laser & Aesthetics in Wodonga doing Cosmetic/Aesthetic nursing. She loves helping people and making them feel great about themselves. ‘I’m going to make everything around me beautiful – that will be my life.’ - Elsie de Wolfe.
Kellie has a personal connection to cancer, losing her paternal grandfather to lung/brain cancer in 1998. Her maternal grandfather lost a kidney to cancer 20 years ago and is now the ripe old age of 93. Kellie’s father survived cancer twice, originating in his stomach at 48 and then returning in his lymph system at 50– he is now 70! Kellie’s aunt also survived breast cancer 10 years ago.
All Kellie’s family members received amazing care during their journeys. Kellie also cares for many patients in hospital managing their acute pain after operations for cancer and at her clinic, Kellie removes radiotherapy tattoos for free for local residents if they wish to have them gone.
“It is such an honour to participate in Stars of the Border,” Kellie said. “To be able to raise money for the continued fight against cancer to help ensure a smooth journey for the patients and their families and give back to our great community.”
In her spare time, Kellie loves stand-up paddle boarding, going to the gym and Pilates, walking with my husband and their cavalier Dug and spending time as a family. You might also occasionally see Kellie at Happy Hour at Miss Amelie across from her clinic on a Friday night!
