Kirsty is a proud regional woman with a deep connection to community, land and storytelling. Living and working in the Broke Fordwich region of the Hunter Valley, she has spent recent years immersed in rural life, helping manage an agritourism farmstay where visitors can experience the joy of animals, wide open paddocks and genuine country hospitality.

With a background in social science and a passion for supporting people through life’s most meaningful and emotional moments, Kirsty is drawn to work that brings people together. Whether welcoming guests, creating community events or holding space for important conversations, she believes connection and kindness are at the heart of strong and communities.

Known for her love of humour and not her dancing prowess this is definitely a far cry from the quiet paddocks of the Farm among the Alpacas, but one she gladly takes in the hope of helping. A country ethos that is an ever present part of her life.

Kirsty is dancing in support of the Cancer Council, honouring the resilience of those facing cancer and the families and communities who walk beside them. For those she has loved and lost and for those who she is currently walking beside during their fight. Her performance celebrates strength, country and the powerful spirit that helps people rise through life’s toughest seasons. 

"I know the power of a village and I’m bringing you mine. I want to honour my community in a meaningful way. Living and working in a rural farming community, I see every day how resilient people on the land have to be. Farming teaches you to keep going through drought, storms and uncertain seasons, and that same strength and determination is something I see in people facing cancer.

Regional communities know how to show up for each other when it matters most. By stepping onto the stage, I hope to help raise funds, awareness and support so that people facing cancer, no matter where they live, have the care and resources they need.

I also dance for my father and one of my dearest friends who are currently fighting and to my loved ones who have recently lost their battles.

If this dance can help bring people together and make even a small difference, then it will be well worth stepping outside my comfort zone. I’m dancing for whoever needs it!"
