Laura is the Founder of Wollongong Women and a personal development mentor who is passionate about inspiring people to be the best version of themselves.
She is known for creating uplifting and welcoming spaces where women in business feel seen, supported and inspired to grow. Through signature events including Boss Woman Breakfasts, workshops, International Women’s Day celebrations and community meet ups, Laura has built a thriving local community that brings ambitious women together.
At the heart of everything she does is her love of personal growth and meaningful connection. Through mentoring, workshops and events, she encourages women to back themselves, step outside their comfort zone and go after what they really want.
Laura first felt inspired to join Stars of Wollongong – Dance for Cancer a few years ago when she sat in the audience watching and thought, “One day… I want to do that!”
At just 17 years old, her best friend was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and since then she has seen firsthand the ripple effect cancer has on families, friendships and communities. Being part of Stars of Wollongong is her way of giving back while enjoying the epic experience.
Her biggest strength heading into the competition is her optimistic attitude. She loves having fun, thrives off a challenge and is ready to give it everything she’s got.
Her biggest fear… forgetting the routine on the night… but let’s not jinx it!!
Laura’s dance background includes school performances, plenty of lounge room dance-parties and a fun little secret: at age 14 she represented Australia for Baton Twirling.
Her pump up playlist features a bit of Dua Lipa, Dom Dolla, Taylor Swift, Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now and a healthy dose of Indie Pop.
FUN FACTS ABOUT LAURA:
• Mum to two boys aged 9 and 11
• Loves strength training, playing oztag and snowboarding
• Ocean obsessed
• Lives by the motto: “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you”
