🌟Meet Leonie Mooney🌟
Meet Leonie, a vibrant spirit that has graced the Albury community for 26 years, originally hailing from Mount Gambier, South Australia. Family is at the heart of her story, with her devoted husband Steve and two wonderful daughters, Eliza and Sarah.
Her commitment to the local sports scene is exemplary, earning her the status of a life member at Wodonga Raiders Netball Club. She is the go-to person for Netball Operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of the club year round. Additionally, she is a life member at Albury Netball Association, where she serves as a committee member and Rep Coordinator.
Beyond her contributions to netball, she channels her organisational skills into her role in administration at Huon Distributors Wodonga. Juggling a busy life as a mum, she wears the hat of the chief driver to various sporting activities, dance eisteddfods, and netball carnivals.
Dance is not a stranger to her life. As an experienced dance mum backstage, she draws inspiration from her daughters' abilities. In the past, she even ventured into Senior ladies tap and Zumba classes, graciously encouraged by their then dance teacher, Sharen Reynolds.
Now, she's stepping onto a new stage by participating in the Stars of the Border fundraiser. In this exciting venture, she will be learning to dance with the aim of performing at a gala event in May, all to raise funds for cancer. Her dedication to various aspects of community life, coupled with her enthusiasm for dance, ensures she will bring a special energy to the Stars of the Border event, contributing to both the arts and a worthy cause. Whether on the netball court, backstage at dance events, or now on the dance floor, she embraces each role with passion and a love for community engagement.
