I'm fundraising for...the entire community.
What excites me most about being a part of the Stars of Dance for Cancer event is the incredible opportunity to bring our community together for a vital cause. As Mayor, I believe in the power of community events not only to entertain but also to unite people for a common goal. This event allows us to raise awareness and funds for cancer research and support. The chance to contribute to such an important cause while engaging with the people of Dubbo in a fun and unique way is truly exhilarating. I'm looking forward to the camaraderie, the friendly competition, and, most importantly, making a positive impact in the fight against cancer.

Unpredictable; Uncoordinated; Enthusiastic.
Do I have any dance experience?
While I can't claim to be a seasoned dancer, having four kids who dance means I've learned a thing or two…by osmosis! Being around their rehearsals and performances, I might not have picked up their grace, but I’ve certainly absorbed some of their enthusiasm. My own dance experience is limited to two events: a reluctant but joyous dance at my wedding, and a previous 'Dancing with the Stars' event back in 2009, when I was a sprightly version of myself, 15 years younger. So while my technical dance skills might be limited, I'm hoping that the blend of parental observation, a touch of osmosis, and my earlier dancing adventure will bring some unique flair to my performance this time around!
Why am I participating in this event?
I am participating in this event to demonstrate my support for our vibrant community and to help raise funds for Cancer. As the Mayor, I believe in leading by example, engaging in community activities, and showing solidarity with the residents. This event is not only a fantastic opportunity to connect with the people of Dubbo in a fun and entertaining way but also allows me to contribute to a good cause. It's important for me to be actively involved in community events, showcasing the spirit of our town and the camaraderie we share.
