Matthew Norris

Matthew Norris is a Councillor and Assistant Deputy Mayor of Shoalhaven City Council, dedicated to advocating for the local community and shaping the region’s future. His role sees him meeting with residents, businesses, and community groups, attending council meetings, and addressing local challenges. He finds fulfillment in seeing the positive impact of his work, whether it’s delivering new infrastructure projects or helping residents navigate council processes. No two days are the same, making his role both exciting and rewarding. 

Matthew is stepping onto the Stars of Nowra stage to support a cause close to his heart. Having lost his grandmother to cancer before he was born, he is passionate about raising awareness and funds in the hope of one day achieving a cancer-free future. 

Although he has no formal dance training, Matthew approaches everything with energy and enthusiasm. He’s a fan of classic wedding dances like the Macarena and Nutbush, and ABBA songs never fail to get him moving. He’s determined to put on a grand performance that will leave the audience cheering. 

Outside of dance, Matthew is an avid sim racer and has embarked on a personal mission to visit Australia’s famous “Big Things.” He can’t wait to hit the dance floor, bringing fun, energy, and a great cause together for an unforgettable night!
