I'm fundraising for...

In 2019 I lost my beautiful sister Kerrie to Ovarian Cancer.  My sister was my best friend and I miss her every single day.  She was only 52 when she died and she fought so hard to stay here with everyone. 

The year before that, I lost one of my best friends to Colon Cancer.  Since then I have watched my nephew battle blood cancer, my dad have treatment for lung cancer and now, another good friend has been given a terminal prognosis with recurring breast cancer.

There isn’t much I can do, but I can raise some money to contribute to a the search for a cure for this awful disease.  When my sister was sick, she said that she would raise money for cancer when she got better.  Unfortunately, she never got to do that, so I'm doing it for her.

About me: 

I am a makeup artist, working on TV and Red carpet events.  I have just launched my Magnetic lash company called Lash Armour.  I have lived in Frenchs Forest for 25 years.  I have three children – twin boys (21) and a 20 year old daughter.  I have no dance experience except a bit of ballet when I was 10!  I am most excited about raising as much money as possible as well as just having some fun!

Look where we are at!

Number 3!  This is so exciting.  I am so incredibly grateful.  18 days to go until the big night.  I've got a lot of work to do with my dance and also continue fundraising.   Today I'm making hampers from all my incredible donations so I can auction them in a silent auction on the night.  My dance costume is being made by my friend Wendy from Anahata clothing and it's going to be gorgeous.  I'm practicing every day and rehearsing three times a week with my dance teacher, Katherine.   It's going to be a big 18 days!!  I'm excited!

Costume Check!

Our dance costumes are on their way!  My lovely friend Wendy from Anahata Clothing is making our gorgeous outfits.  I'm so thankful for her support.  Dancing is going great.  Miss Katherine, my dance teacher, is so wonderful with this incredible dancers body and she is just so graceful.  I'm so glad I get to do this with her!  Fundraising is so exciting.  I am over the $2k mark now with all the money from the Mangoes still to go in.  I'm really hoping I can get to $5k and beyond.  Three weeks to go.  Working hard every day!  

MAKEUP CLASS FUNDRAISER!

Fundraising is going so well!

I'm so excited that the donations for auction have been pouring in!  I have so many baskets to put up on the auction page, plus I will be also auctioning some great things on the night.

This week I got a $500 voucher to Studio 8 in Mosman for cut and colour and style.  I'm so thankful.

I'm still hoping for more.  If anyone knows anyone in a business that might want to donate, no matter how small, please let me know.  

The Mango Fundraiser is in it's last few weeks and my house is going to smell so amazing when those mangos arrive in early November.

I'd love to say I'm becoming an incredible dancer, but........  The image of a baby elephant comes to mind.  But it is so fun and I'm so glad to be doing it for this great cause.

The Dancing continues

I bought my shoes!  This is all so new to me.  My teacher, Miss Katherine, is the most incredible, gentle, encouraging woman.  She fills me with compliments about how I'm graceful and a natural.  I don't believe her for a second but it so lovely for her to tell me that!  I have a long way to go.   I'm super nervous.  We videoed the dance so far last night so I could keep practicing and I was too scared to watch it.   Katherine has this beautiful, elegant, floaty body and is such a beautiful dancer.  Did I already say I have a long way to go?  But, I'm enjoying trying something new.  Fundraising is harder than I imagined but I'm so committed to doing this.  I'm working every day, sending emails, talking to people, hoping that they may donate a prize or some money to this cause.  Six weeks to go.

Let's go to Auction!

I'm starting to get some amazing items to auction.  I'll set up a page shortly for all the auction items.  Some of the amazing things we have so far are two beautiful original artworks, a hand made crochet throw rug and an incredible 2 1/2 hour cruise around Pittwater with a seafood platter and a bottle of champagne!  So exciting.  I'd love more items to auction so if you have anything you can donate, please let me know. 
To raise funds for my Stars of Northern Beaches Cancer Council event I am doing the mango fundraiser. These Mangos are the biggest, most beautiful mangos straight from the farm in Queensland. No frozen or artifically ripened mangos here!!! Mango's are going to be hard to get this season so order here now with me. $28 for a tray each tray will usually have between 12 and 18 mangoes, with a total tray weight of approximately 4.5kg. Comment below and I will add your name. The mango's get delivered to my house (Frenchs Forest) and I will call you to pick up. The exact date for deliver is yet to be confirmed but will be in November. Get on this! Summer is here!

The big announcement! What is my dance?

So excited!  My dance is Lyrical!   Have I ever danced Lyrical?  No i have not!  I'm looking forward to my lessons with my gorgeous dance instructor Miss Katherine!  She's young and beautiful and I'm glad that at least one of us is going to look amazing on the dance floor :). 

I'm hoping to get corporate sponsorship and also I'm looking for prizes for a raffle so if you know anyone who may be interested in either of these things, please let me know.
