⭐ Meet Nathan Cassar ⭐ From Master of Ceremonies to Mastering the Moves for a Cause!
Having partnered with the Cancer Council and MC'd the Stars of Sydney South West for the past two years, I thought it was time I swapped the podium for the centre stage and helped raise funds and support the event in a different way.
Cancer has impacted my family in numerous ways, taking both my grandfathers (pancreatic and lung cancer) as well as my cousin (brain cancer), and if I can help make a difference to stamp out cancer in society once and for all it is one of the easiest decisions I could make this year. I also know firsthand how fun this event is and how it pushes you to go beyond your comfort zone - I've always wanted to learn how to dance but never tried and even feared it a little! I can't wait to break those mental boundaries while raising much-needed funds!
While I’m based in Parramatta and hail from Sydney’s South West, my MC work often brings me to Penrith and the Hawkesbury region, places I love for their genuine community spirit and vibrant energy. Every event I host there feels a bit more connected and wholesome, and I’m always thrilled to work with the friendly, down-to-earth people who call Penrith home.
Dancing, however, is a whole new frontier for me. I’ve taught and performed line dancing (thanks to my time as a Cruise Director!), but ballroom and contemporary have always felt like uncharted waters. Watching those dancers glide across the floor, I thought, “Could I ever move like that?” Joining Stars of Penrith isn’t just about learning a new skill; it’s about breaking through my own mental blocks and embracing growth, physically and mentally.
At 32, I feel there’s so much life left to explore, and I can’t wait to open myself up to new possibilities while raising funds for a cause that’s affected so many lives. I’m excited to learn, to make new friends, and to connect with others on this journey.
Let’s make a difference together – for all the families impacted by cancer and for the hope of a cancer-free future!

Nathan will be dancing with Emylyn Wie, taught by Raymond Estil from Urban Salsa, and will take on the ballroom style.
