Tamara Te Huia, representing Square Up Concreting, is a leader in the multicultural community, proudly representing her whakapapa and wearing her Moko Kauae.
She supports people from diverse cultural backgrounds to connect, navigate services, and feel a true sense of belonging in the region. Her days are full of supportive conversations with community members who are finding their footing in a new place to create safe spaces and build meaningful connections. Tamara loves the vibrance of the people she meets along the way.
Tamara’s motivation for joining Stars of Nowra Dance for Cancer is deeply personal, having lost her father to liver cancer and mother to breast cancer a few years later. She is inspired by her mother’s advice to love life and take opportunities as they come. Excited to embark on a fitness journey, she aims to show courage in trying something new to support a good cause.
Despite joking about her dodgy knees and thrice broken ankle, Tamara brings determination, heart, and a deep commitment to community to the Stars of Nowra.
