Introducing Taya Calder-Mason
Born and raised in Bar Beach, Taya Calder-Mason is a a lover of a lot of things, one of the biggest is fashion. This led her to open up Newcastle’s first designer dress store, Goldie’s Dress Hire in Hamilton.
Starting with a small collection of curated dresses, the store now hosts over 600+ dresses from size 6-16. In her previous life she left school at 16 years old and moved to Los Angeles to sing and act.
After landing various roles, she created her production company, End Point Productions in 2017. Funding her films from her receptionist job, this is where she formed a strong bond with her boss (and family friend) Wendy Lee.
Wendy Lee was a very beloved GP in Belmont and was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Multiple Myeloma in 2014. After years of treatment and multiple stem cell transplants, Wendy sadly passed away in June 2019.
Wendy was one of Taya’s biggest supporters and would often say during their 5 years of working side by side that she couldn’t wait to be part of her ‘Entourage’, so doing stars is a huge nod to Wendy from Taya.
Taya is dancing with Miss Kaleisha from the Australian Dance and Talent Centre to a Musical Theatre Routine.
