I am joining the 2024 production of Stars of Tamworth Dance for Cancer to support Cancer Council in their mission for a cancer free future.
Because 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, I’m bringing everyone together to show off my dance moves to raise much needed funds and show my support to those in our community affected by cancer.
Please support me on this page to support cancer research, advocacy, prevention programs and local vital support services for Australians living with cancer.

Why I am dancing (poorly)
Cancer affects every person in the world, either directly or indirectly. It is our responsibility to do everything possible to reduce and ultimately eliminate its impact on our lives.In February 2009, I had a profound encounter with cancer when my dear sister Melanie was diagnosed with Stage 4 Small Cell Neuroendocrine Cancer of the Cervix. Sadly, within 7 months, on September 1st, 2009, she lost her battle. Despite her unwavering strength and determination, she absorbed everything she could to give it her best shot. During that challenging time, our family stood together, supporting Mel, her husband Phil, and her two young children, Meg (5 years old) and Max (16 months old) when she passed away.
I have accepted this challenge to raise awareness about how people can improve their chances of fighting cancer through education and adopting a healthier lifestyle. I also encourage regular checkups, just like you would take your car for a yearly service. While our government is making progress in cancer prevention, we still need to put more effort into finding simple solutions focused on preventative rather than reactive measures.
My goal is to raise awareness and provide everyone with a better chance at a longer and healthier life in honour of my beautiful sister Melanie.
