Our Teachers

Kellie Singh - Tamworth City Dance Academy

TCDA is Tamworth's largest and longest running Dance and Performance school with studios in Tamworth and Quirindi. We are a member school of the highly respected Australian Teachers Of Dancing (ATOD) and our exam students earn internationally recognised qualifications. We seek to create an inclusive dance community and offer classes catering to children as young as 18 months right through to adults. They endeavour to provide the best possible environment for young people to thrive.  Thousands of dancers have called TCDA their home away from home since 2009.

Capitalising on their regional locations gives TCDA opportunities to stage major productions, engaging with local businesses, community groups and charities and maintaining a close association with creative arts in public education through events such as Dance Camp, Dance Festival and CAPERS. TCDA strive for originality, creativity and innovation. Their ultimate goal is to create a positive cultural change in this region where wellbeing and quality of life is increased through physicality, creativity and exposure to the arts.

Lily Singh - Tamworth City Dance Academy

Lily has been a dancer since she was 2 years old. Her love of performance grew and developed into a love of Choreographing and Teaching. After studying with TCDA and The Australian Teachers of Dance from 3-17 years , she completed her Associate Teaching Certificate in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip hop, Lyrical, Contemporary and later, Musical Theatre. Not content to just stay on the ground she also became a qualified teacher in Acro and Aerial.
Choreographing for stage and TCDA is her heart but she has also challenged her self with other creative arenas like CAPERS, Tamworth Musical Society, Productions and The Cavalcade !
With a solid reputation for creativity and reliability Miss Lily has also been thrilled to work on  professional shows and events over the years. Miss Lily also loves choreographing film clips and exploring dance on film.
Like many of us, Miss Lilys family has been effected by cancer through every generation. Knowing  and seeing its devastating effects has inspired her to donate her time and talent for many years now, To Stars of Tamworth, Dance for Cancer. She has been blessed to see the real benefit to her rural community with the funds raised.
Stars is also a fabulously fun time and she particularly loves to bring out the STAR quality in the amazing local celebrities that take the challenge to Dance for Cancer. “Seeing them shine , that awesome thing that happens when you perform , seeing that in their faces , when they thought they couldn’t do it that’s magic ! “
