Stars of Newcastle 2026

DANI BRIGGS | NEWCASTLE JETS

Originally from New Zealand, Dani has called Newcastle home for the past 10 months after making the move across the Tasman to join the Newcastle Jets. A lifelong lover of sport, she now works as the Women's Operations Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations and logistics of the A-League Women's team while also supporting community programs that help inspire the next generation of footballers.

Before football became her career, Dani was a passionate dancer. As she got older, tap shoes gave way to football boots, making Stars of Newcastle the perfect opportunity to reconnect with a love of dance while supporting an important cause.

Although she's still new to the region, Dani has quickly embraced the Newcastle community and the incredible people within it. When the opportunity to take part in Stars arose, she jumped at the chance to contribute to a cause that touches so many lives.

Cancer has impacted several important people throughout Dani's life, including her childhood best friend's mother, her grandfather who has battled cancer twice and is now in remission, and her first football coach who is currently undergoing treatment. Seeing the strength of those affected, and the communities that rally around them, has reinforced her belief in the importance of organisations like Cancer Council.

For Dani, Stars is about raising awareness, supporting those facing cancer and having a little fun along the way. She's ready to swap the football boots for dancing shoes once again and help make a difference for people affected by cancer.
