Jordy is a proud country boy from Goulburn and Marulan whose journey has been anything but ordinary. From working at a truck stop at just 14 years old to earning a university scholarship and building a successful career in hospitality, he has learned the value of hard work, resilience and the importance of having people who believe in you.

Now the Business Development Manager at Rydges Newcastle, Jordy thrives on bringing people together. Whether he's building relationships across the tourism and events industries, supporting local businesses, or creating memorable experiences, connection is at the heart of everything he does. He is also actively involved in the Newcastle business community and is passionate about championing the region he now calls home.

A self-confessed mix of country-town grit, musical theatre enthusiasm and larger-than-life energy, Jordy never takes himself too seriously. He loves music, live performances and finding joy in every opportunity that comes his way.

When asked to take part in Stars of Newcastle, Jordy saw it as a chance to step up for a cause that impacts so many people. While he doesn't have one defining personal cancer story, he has witnessed its effect on friends, colleagues and members of his wider community. For him, Stars is an opportunity to use his network, energy and enthusiasm to bring people together, raise vital funds and support those facing cancer. And if he happens to make a memorable scene on the dance floor along the way, even better.
