As a Salesforce Solution Engineer, I’m great at optimizing systems. My coordination on a dance floor? A complete disaster. But I’m putting my dignity on the line for the Cancer Council’s Stars of the North 2026.
And to be clear: this money doesn't go to a vague "fight against cancer." It goes straight to the frontline—funding patient medications, organizing transport to chemo, and providing vital support services.
This cunning disease took my grandfathers and a dear university friend. I’m doing this for them. And on a personal note, after years of hiding in the shadows before coming out, I’ve decided it’s time to be aggressively visible. What better way than making a glittery spectacle of myself on stage? 🕺✨

Milestone Update: $5500 and now I definitely have to dance
I am thrilled to share that I have reached $5,500 for the Cancer Council's Stars of the North 2026. When I signed up for this challenge, I thought it would be a fun way to raise money, learn some dance moves, and create a spectacle for a good cause. What I didn't anticipate was the profound impact it would have on me.Every dollar raised goes towards meaningful support. Together, we have funded 116 hours of specialist oncology nursing or provided 32 nights of accommodation for patients traveling for treatment. This is not just a vague fight against cancer; it translates to real people getting to their appointments.
I dedicate this effort to my grandfathers (Dušan and Predrag) and a dear friend from university (Ivana), all taken too soon by this cunning disease. Your support has helped me honour them in the best way I know how.
Now, the moment of truth arrives - I actually have to dance. The Stars of the North gala is on Friday, 26 June, at Norths Cammeray. If you want to see what $5,000 of bruised toes looks like on a dance floor, I invite you to come watch.

Milestone Update: $2.002 Raised & My Dignity is (Mostly) Intact! 🚨
If you had told me a few months ago that I’d be voluntarily putting my complete lack of coordination on public display, I would have laughed. Yet, here we are, and I couldn't be more excited!
First and foremost: THANK YOU. We have officially raised $2,000! I am completely blown away by the generosity pouring in from my friends, family, and colleagues across Australia, Denmark, and Serbia.
Behind the Scenes of my 'Experimental' Footwork Let me give you a quick update on how training is going. As a Salesforce Solution Engineer, I’m used to systems, logic, and things making sense. Dance... does not. My coordination remains a complete disaster, my toes are bruised, and I’m pretty sure my dance partner already deserves a medal for extreme patience. But honestly? I am loving every single sweaty, stumbling second of it.
Why the Bruised Toes are Worth It Every time I trip over my own feet, I remind myself exactly why I signed up for this. I have set a goal of $5,000, and I am fiercely determined to hit it.
I want to be very clear about where your money is going when you click that donate button. It isn't disappearing into a vague "fight against cancer." Your donations provide direct, tangible help to patients who are on the frontline right now. We are funding transport to chemotherapy, essential medications, and vital frontline support services.
This cunning disease has taken too many dear people from us. I am dedicating this entire journey to my grandfathers and my beautiful friend from university whom we lost too soon.
On a personal level, stepping onto this stage is also a celebration. After a long journey of coming out and finding my authentic self, I decided it was time to stop hiding in the shadows and start being aggressively, unapologetically visible. What better way to do that than by making a glittery spectacle of myself for a fantastic cause?
