Louise (Louie) Gregory

Hi everyone I’m Louie and I’ve spent majority of my life in Newy!  

I’ve been lucky to have my fair share of iconic Newcastle gigs, so I’m super excited to now be part of an iconic event like Stars of Newcastle.   

From my NXFM radio days as Louie the Fly, to door hosting at Fannys, podium dancing at the Mercury, singing with the Top 40s cover band Express and hosting Miss Surfest. I’ve been fortunate to be a part of this awesome community so I’m grateful for the chance to give back and show my support.   

 I now work in health as a pharmaceutical representative at AstraZeneca in the hospital sector as I love helping people. Outside of work I enjoy catching up with friends and family, binge watching crime shows and the gym which I need as a lover of all things food and wine!   

Like so many people cancer has touched my life more than once. I lost my dear friend, colleague and mentor Barry recently to Cancer. I’ve also watched loved ones including my Mum and Dad bravely face their battle with cancer. Thankfully they are doing well but it’s a journey I wouldn’t wish on anyone.   Joining Stars of Newcastle is my way of honouring their strength and memory while helping raise funds for others going through the same fight.  

This is also an opportunity to shine a light on the incredible work the Cancer Council does. Through my own experience working in health, I’ve seen firsthand the powerful impact of supporting research, patient care, and education.
