Rebecca Randall | Empress + Aces
Rebecca Randall is a local singer-songwriter, filmmaker and passionate community leader stepping onto the dance floor for Border Stars of the Border 2026.
Rebecca first began recording original music in 2020 while creating the score for her debut feature documentary Becoming Bulldogs. Since then, she has become the frontwoman of regional rock powerhouse Empress + Aces, known for their high-energy live shows and songs that move from rebellious anthems to deeply heartfelt ballads.
Rebecca's songwriting has received national and international recognition, with The Greater Plan reaching the semifinals of the Listen Up Songwriting Prize 2025 and being voted Top Australian Rock Song of 2025 by CGCM Rock Radio in Canada and Rock Is Not Dead Australia. Alongside her bandmates, she has headlined regional festivals and supported major Australian acts including Birds of Tokyo, Jon Stevens, Thirsty Merc and The Choirboys. Their latest single, Take the Blame, is a gritty Aussie rock track tackling victim blaming - one of Rebecca’s proudest creative works.
Beyond the stage, Rebecca is a very proud (and busy) mum to four children and three dogs - a household that runs on love, sport, music, outdoors, travel, chaos and coffee. She's also full-time professional in the waste and resource recovery industry, working to reduce landfill and increase recycling across the region.
Rebecca’s decision to take part in Border Stars is deeply personal. She has lived through the impact of cancer within her own family. Her younger brother Stephen bravely battled childhood leukemia, later developing melanoma, and sadly passed away at just 30 years old. She also lost one of her closest friends, Cherie - a fellow mum - to leukemia at the age of 37. These experiences have shaped Rebecca’s resilience and her commitment to supporting others facing similar battles.
While life is already full, Rebecca is stepping onto the dance floor to raise awareness, honour those she has lost, and support families navigating these challenges.
