Sharyn Ryan | Making My Memories
Sharyn grew up in Albury, attending Glenroy Public School and North Albury High before spending two years travelling overseas. Her passion for helping others emerged early, with nearly 20 years of volunteer work in disability support before gaining formal qualifications and building a long-term career in the sector. Sharyn is married to Jeff and is a proud mum to Sinead, Mollie, Keely, and Aidan—each of whom has followed her lead by working in disability support through their family-owned business, Making My Memories. She is also a devoted grandmother to Dexter, Bristol, Ayla (born sleeping), and newborn Bailee.
For the past 17 years, Sharyn has been a dedicated participant in Relay for Life, even shaving her head in 2019 to raise funds. She has hosted countless community fundraisers, including Pink Breakfasts, Biggest Morning Teas, and Movember events, always driven by her commitment to supporting others.
After losing her niece to Leukaemia, her brother to Prostate Cancer, and three close friends to Breast Cancer, Bowel Cancer and Myeloma/Leukaemia, Sharyn joined Stars of the Border to honour their memories. Through her involvement, she hopes to advocate for free, local treatment and support services for cancer survivors and their families—and ultimately, she dreams of seeing a cure.
