Meet Sophie Else, Journalist for The Border Mail and owner of Sacred Women's Retreats
Sophie is a journalist at The Border Mail, and the owner of Sacred Women’s Retreats, a wellness space for women to connect, recharge, and find self-love. She is a creative person who loves painting, singing, writing, meditating, and spending time in nature. Sophie is also a massage therapist, so clearly holds many hats - including being a solo mum to a 10-year-old!
Sophie grew up in Port Lincoln, South Australia, but moved to the Border when her grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. That experience shaped her desire to support people with cancer, and the need to be understanding and mindful of the journeys they're on.
Through her work as a journalist, Sophie has been able to share stories of grief and loss through cancer as well as those of resilience and hope. She feels very thankful to be able to play that role in helping to keep memories alive.
Sophie is now embracing the chance to do something different for what she sees as such an important cause. She plans to raise money through auctions, wellness events and family fun days, providing a meaningful and memorable experience for those who take part.
Above all, Sophie is ready to dance and show just how much this cause means to her and so many others. 📰💃
